Feminist Hacker Barbie

The book “Barbie: I Can Be a Computer Engineer” wanted to spark an interest for computer programming in young girls. However, the fails miserably at this, because the first thing Barbie does when she encounters a problem is calling her male friends. The book received many negative reviews and has even been taken off Amazon. One Kathleen Tuite did also not like the message of the book, so she put together a website called Feminist Hacker Barbie and asked the Internet to help rewrite the book. The results so far have been great and it has gone viral with the hashtag #FeministHackerBarbie.
