Happy Towel Day
It is the 25th of May today, that means fans of The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy, celebrate the work of its writer Douglas Adams by carrying around a towel all day. (O, and it is also Geek Pride Day today). If you don’t get the part of the towel you should check chapter three of the Hitchhikers Guide again.
The first day Towel Day was celebrated was May 25th, 2001, two weeks after Adams death. It was proposed at the open-source forum “Binary Freedom” by D Clyde Williamson. Since then more and more people started to celebrate it.
Anyway there are celebrations all over the world, so this is a nice chance to meet fellow fans of HHGG. Let me know in the comments what your plans are for Towel Day.
