Phone reveals politician’s life
Not many people are aware that their all their mobile data is stored for some period of time and what can be done with this data.
In order to create more awareness, the politican Malte Spitz of the German Green party retreived six months of his mobile data from his provider Deutsche Telecom (he had to sue them), to show what telecom providers know about a person. He gave the information to the Zeit Online. They turned it in an interactive map and added other public data like twitter feeds and relevant information.
This profile reveals when Spitz walked down the street, when he took a train, when he was in an airplane. It shows where he was in the cities he visited. It shows when he worked and when he slept, when he could be reached by phone and when was unavailable. It shows when he preferred to talk on his phone and when he preferred to send a text message. It shows which beer gardens he liked to visit in his free time. All in all, it reveals an entire life.
